Corrupt shaders - render layers in maya

Hello, this issue of shaders getting wireframes while switching the render layers has existed since birth of maya I believe.
There have been workarounds for this issue.
First one being KEEPING THE SHADING GROUPS PER SURFACE INTACT THROUGH ALL THE RENDER LAYERS.
Second workaround being FIND OUT WHICH LAYER CAUSING THIS ISSUE AND RENAME THE LAYER.
Third one is to automate the second process, well sort of..... :)
